Spring Forward

3/16 Welcome, friends, to my precursory post!

Well hello there, how's everyone doing?

Let me introduce myself by the name Jess, an avid searcher for new tidbits in pop culture.  I'll start off first by sort of mapping out what I want this blog to look like!  I hope that I can make this a place of positive reflections and good, fun energy.  I've had ideas and thoughts of blogging brewing in my mind for quite some time, and just last night, although I got terrible sleep, I had a dream that I started my own blog.  I had a plan to eventually create a ''fashion blog'', but I know how difficult it is to burst out in the scene so to speak.  I am also a student, so I wouldn't be a ''regular'' poster, because I know it takes time and effort to keep up a fashion blog.  But there are some really great fashion blogs I enjoy following (I'll elaborate on those later!), so I look to those for inspiration and that will have to do for now!

I already have a blog over at www.tumblr.com/helixaspersa, so feel free to visit if you wish!  It's more of a mish-mash of things that I find interesting, although nothing written on the blog is of my own hands.  I'd like this blog to be a little more personal, reflecting my opinions on music (one of my favorite things in life), fashion, art, comics/books, photography, nature, kitschy/nerdy/geeky things and generally anything I find interesting or entertaining.  I'm going to try to emphasize the music aspect, maybe try to have a song of the day/week depending on how insanely busy I get with school.

So if you happened to stumble upon this particular blurb on this particular blog on this particular day, I thank you.  You are a gentle(wom)an and a scholar.  I will leave you with this quote, by the master of words Kurt Vonnegut.  It's a good daily reflection sort of quote, something to wake up to and ponder throughout your day's travels.

"I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.'"

Many thanks and good thoughts!

-Jess
